Most remodelers hand you a product catalog and wish you luck. We do something different.
The best design process starts with questions, not decisions. We’ll ask about how you live, what you love, and what’s been frustrating you, and build from there. You bring the inspiration; we bring the expertise.
There are thousands of tile choices, cabinet finishes, and fixture combinations available. We curate a thoughtful selection based on your style, your budget, and your home — so every choice you make feels right, not exhausting.
Every WISA project includes detailed 3D renderings of your actual space, presented on the big screen at our design center. You’ll walk in knowing exactly what your home will look like, and walk out confident in every decision.
Research shows that projects starting with professional design cost around 6% less, finish approximately 33% faster, and have far fewer unexpected changes along the way. Clear, detailed plans help our team build efficiently — and thorough upfront planning means decisions get made before construction begins, not during it.
Design isn't decoration. It's the difference between a project that works in real life and one that just looks good in photos.
Without a design process, most homeowners end up making expensive decisions under pressure — choosing finishes they’re not sure about, approving layouts that don’t quite work, and discovering problems after the walls are already up.
With WISA’s design process, every decision is made deliberately — with a clear picture of the finished space, a layout that works for how you actually live, and finishes selected specifically for your home and your style.
We take the images you've been saving and turn them into a cohesive design direction — one that works within your home's structure and your project's budget.
Before we ever show you a tile sample, we build a mood board that captures the feeling you're after — the palette, the texture, the overall direction. It's a filter for every decision that follows.
We don't hand you a binder and send you shopping. We bring a curated selection of finishes, materials, and fixtures to the table, all pre-vetted for your style, your space, and your budget. Every option you see belongs there.
Our renderings aren't generic floor plans. They're detailed, photorealistic visualizations of your home with your chosen finishes, your layout, and your selections built in. When you see it on our design center screen, you're seeing your project.
From mood board to 3D render to finished space — here's how the process comes to life.
A 100+ year-old home. A basement with no identity. A family that wanted something they'd never seen done before. We built the design around the home's existing brick and a speakeasy aesthetic that felt authentic — and then built it exactly as shown.
A 1970s original, stripped to the studs. A restaurateur who wanted a home built for entertaining at the highest level. Every detail, from the 25-foot pocket iron beam to the fireplace tied to the kitchen countertops, was designed and visualized before construction began.
A main floor that fought against itself, a kitchen too small to function, and a family that wanted to stay in the home they loved. Multiple rounds of 3D renderings, including structural calculations for two flush-mounted iron pocket beams, delivered an open-concept transformation they could see before it was built.
Every step is designed to make sure you're confident before we ever break ground.
Before we visit your home, we ask you to share the images, Pinterest boards, and ideas you've been collecting. We'll review them together, ask the right questions, and connect your vision to similar projects we've built — so our designer walks in already knowing your style.
You feel heard before the process even begins. And our designer shows up prepared, not guessing.
Waris, our designer Maisa, and our architect visit your home together — once. We walk the space, take measurements, discuss your goals, and flag structural considerations on the spot. Every key decision-maker in a single visit.
You get immediate, expert guidance on what's possible — structurally, aesthetically, and financially — in one conversation.
Our team creates an as-built drawing of your existing space and develops an initial design concept. By the time you see it, you're not looking at a generic floor plan — you're seeing your home reimagined.
You have something concrete to react to. The design evolves from your feedback, not from assumptions.
We present your 3D renderings on the big screen at our design center, walk through the scope and estimate together, and guide you through a curated selection of finishes already priced into your project. No surprises, no upselling.
You see your project clearly and completely before committing to anything — cost, selections, and all.
We update your renderings with your actual finish selections, creating a hyper-realistic version of your finished project. At this stage, what you see is exactly what we'll build.
Every detail is confirmed before construction begins — so there are no second-guessing moments once the crew shows up.
Before anything is signed, we return to your home to confirm final measurements, cut soffits, and verify conditions. Your price is locked in only after everything checks out.
Your contract reflects reality — not assumptions. Fixed-cost pricing you can count on.
Not at all. Most of our clients come to us with a general feeling — something's not working, or they've been saving inspiration images for years but don't know how to turn them into a plan. That's exactly what our design process is built for.
Our designer Kate is with you from your very first inspiration call through your final finish selections. She's not a consultant you meet once and never hear from again — she's part of your project team from start to finish.
Yes. For clients with demanding schedules, we adapt the process by conducting virtual design sessions, delivering finish samples to your home, and making sure every in-person meeting counts. We've done this for traveling homeowners, busy parents, and dual-income households who can't just take a Tuesday off.
Design is an evolving conversation. We build in multiple rounds of refinement before anything is finalized, so there's room to react, adjust, and refine. If significant changes are requested after the design is complete, a design fee may apply — but we'll always be upfront about that before it happens.
Yes. Once you've made your selections at the design center, we update your renderings with your actual materials, finishes, and fixtures. What you see on screen is what we build.
Our design center is located at 8560 Cinder Bed Rd, Suite 1300 in Lorton, VA. It's where we present your 3D renderings on a large screen and walk you through a curated selection of finishes already included in your project's pricing.
